About Our Company
Balanced Body Labs™ believes that optimal nutrition and peak physical performance are inextricably linked. Measuring your individual nutritional performance will empower you to conquer any challenge that comes your way. The numbers don’t lie!
That is why we have developed the very first at-home nutrient blood testing system. Our revolutionary system is designed to support both performance athletes and those concerned with meeting their nutritional needs. Custom reports offer a comprehensive view to each client’s nutritional makeup.
Eliminate the guesswork! Consistent, measurable data provides the knowledge to excel. Whether you are training for a competition, achieving your optimal weight or a professional athlete, we are committed in helping you understand your body’s health – one nutrient at a time.
How It Works
Decide which nutrient testing panel will help you achieve your specific performance or fitness goals. Our Balanced Pro service was designed for endurance athletes or weekend athletes, who need to measure their nutrients, amino acids and performance levels carefully. Our Balanced Perform service is best for anyone training for a competition and striving to increase overall performance. Weight Control is ideal for those aiming to gain or shed pounds and achieve their optimal weight.
Each nutrient testing kit comes with a blood spot test card, spring-loaded lancet, biohazard bag and a return envelope with postage label. In your kit, you will also find an instructional graphic that takes you through Steps 1-7 of completing your blood spot sample. The whole process should take no more than a few minutes to complete. In the comfort of your home!
Once you’re finished, send your blood spot card in the return envelope provided for you. When our lab receives your sample, we will analyze your blood for 34 vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids and other nutrients your body needs to Measure, Master and Perform to its full potential.
Access your nutrition test results by email. Discover whether your body is metabolizing too much or too little of each nutrient included in our full micronutrient library. Find the exact measurements, take meaningful action, and track your progress. Reach peak performance and fitness levels through improved body balance!
Testing Process And Results
Balanced Body Labs™ uses dried blood spot technology with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography combined with tandem mass spectrometry to analyze each individual blood sample. This process determines the measurable concentration of each nutrient in our complete micronutrient library. We then translate that data into easy-to-understand status readings of “Low,” “High” and “Good.”
In your individualized micronutrient report, you will see a breakdown of our analysis. Each report measures amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients your body maintains. Next to your status readings, you will also see normative levels, so you know exactly where you should be to achieve ultimate nutritional body balance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who should get tested?
Vitamin nutritional testing is for everyone. Whether you’re a professional athlete, a weekend athlete, or just focused on your health and well being, our measurable data can help you become the healthiest version of yourself.
Knowing your body’s nutrient composition is key to living a longer, healthier, and more balanced body life.
Why are vitamins important?
They are considered essential nutrients that assist important roles within your body.
- Supports healthy aging
- Boosts energy levels
- Maintains muscle strength
- Supports internal organs, brain, bones, immune system, healing, strength, and endurance
Can’t I just take a multivitamin?
Sure, but a multivitamin doesn’t address your body’s specific needs. Just as you wouldn’t use a one-size-fits-all training plan, you shouldn’t take a one-size-fits-all supplement. Based on our measurable results, you can determine which supplements your body actually needs.
Are you a doctor?
No, we only provide a custom report of the micro- and macro-nutrient levels in your body. We do not provide medical advice. The information we provide should be discussed with your medical or nutritional professional if you want further advice on how to proceed in case the test shows deficiencies or toxicity.
What is included in my report?
You will receive a comprehensive report on your body’s nutritional composition, and what that means to you. Please see our Reports page for more information.
How do I receive my report?
You can download the report directly, or receive by mail or email. It’s completely confidential.
Is my information secure?
Yes. We maintain strict privacy and confidentiality policies. Nutritional results are sealed, secured, and shared with only our laboratory personnel.
How long does it take to get my results?
We average 10 -14 days, once received in the lab.
How often should I get retested?
At a minimum, annually. If your test showed toxicity or deficiency, you may want to measure more frequently to check if your nutrients are balanced again.
Also, if you’re an athlete or simply work out a lot, you may want to check your nutrient levels regularly to ensure that your body is balanced and to measure the effect of athletic performance and stress.
Where is my blood tested?
In a professionally licensed laboratory.
What will my results tell me?
You will receive a comprehensive report of your body’s nutrient composition, and what it means to you. Please see our Reports page for more information.
Do I need to fast?
Yes. You must fast at least eight (8) hours prior to mailing your blood spot test. Ideally, you will perform the blood spot test first thing in the morning before breakfast.
Are blood spots as accurate as blood vials?
Absolutely. Blood spot testing results are of nearly equal value to serum testing results in terms of accuracy, without the inconvenience and cost of going to a laboratory.
